The Right Solicitor for Car Accident Claim

Every year there are thousands of accidents on the roads in the UK, and every year many people struggle over how to go about making an accident claim without falling into some of the traps which can later cause problems. Whether you have been injured in a car accident as a driver, or as a passenger, or even as a cyclist or pedestrian, then you will certainly be able to make a claim, as long as the accident wasn't your fault.

In fact not only are you encouraged to make a claim for compensation, but it may very well be in your best interests. It's easy to overlook the potential problems which you will face further down the line, from physiotherapy to time off work, from medication to cancelled holiday plans. People's circumstances are unique, as indeed are the circumstances of the accident, and so it will be important to think seriously about making a claim as soon as you feel able.

But here's a word of warning, because unfortunately what you may well find these days is that you're not always given the chance to have time to think and plan and come to the right decision. There are now some unscrupulous firms which will literally follow the ambulance to the hospital in order to track down the details of those people involved in a car accident, in the hope of getting them to sign up for an accident compensation claim.

Of course, it can seem extremely convenient, and you'll almost certainly have other things on your mind besides making decisions about which solicitor to use for your compensation claim. But you do have time, and it's important to use that. For example, if you were to ask many of these firms whether you will receive 100% of any compensation awarded they're likely to try to avoid the question. If you were to ask them whether you will be required to pay an upfront fee for them to take on your case you could well find that this is needed.

Not all accident claim solicitors claim their costs from the other side, and this can really cost a significant sum of money. This is money that you have been awarded, which the court feels is fair and just for you to be able to put your life back together. You're the one who has been injured and whose life has been put on hold - why should you then have to pay someone else for the privilege of receiving what is rightly yours anyway?

It's important these days to take the time to find a solicitor who will work on a no win no fee basis, which means you receive 100% of the compensation awarded, with all of their fees claimed from the other side. This means you can relax, knowing that your claim is being handled by a team of solicitors who are genuinely out to fight for justice for you.

Whether you have suffered whiplash, a damaged back or other injuries, and whether they are mild or serious, you will certainly be able to claim for compensation, although it's impossible for anyone to be certain how much too early on. Be cautions if a solicitor or other advisory person tells you precisely how much you'll be able to get. No two car accidents are the same, just as no two injuries are completely the same. There will always be unique circumstances and complications, and this is why each case is considered on its own merit.
